Emily Glerum, PA-C

Board Certified Psychiatric Physician Associate
My passion for working with patients to improve mental health began in my prior practice as a primary care provider. I saw first-hand how mental health impacts every aspect of a person’s overall wellness, and how addressing psychological concerns often led patients to feel better physically. Ultimately this led me to pursue a career in psychiatry. I know how difficult it can be to have conversations about mental health, and the level of trust required to feel comfortable sharing such personal information with a stranger. I take time to listen before jumping to any diagnosis or treatment, considering an individual’s background, desires, and concerns before making recommendations. When developing a treatment plan, I believe that a patient’s knowledge and comfort are of the utmost importance, and that it must be a two-way conversation. I truly love the education and counseling aspect of my job, and I know that the more confidence a patient has in the plan we develop, the better the outcome for everyone. I want patients to feel safe, empowered, and that they are making the best possible decisions for themselves.
