My approach to healthcare is to view and treat each person as an individual, taking into account their unique background, experiences, and needs. I consider mental health to be a priority on par with any other type of healthcare, and that everyone can benefit from the expertise and therapeutic care of a mental health professional, regardless of whether they suffer from a psychiatric disorder.

I utilize evidence-based treatments, those with the highest success rates, that are based on scientific research and clinical outcomes. I strive to stay up to date on new advances in psychiatry in order to provide the best care available. I use psychoeducation, lifestyle recommendations, therapy, and medication management as necessary, and prioritize establishing and maintaining trusting relationships with whomever I have the privilege of working with.

I have experience in treating the following mental health concerns: stress, anger, self-esteem issues, major life adjustments, grief and bereavement, trauma, anxiety, panic, fear, depression, self-harming concerns, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, eating and diet concerns, sleep issues, and substance abuse.

Background

As an undergraduate I dual-majored in Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. I spent several years working in a Stress and Anxiety research lab, as well as with a Clinical Neuropsychology research team, where I learned firsthand about the connection between our thoughts, behaviors, experiences, and biology. I received my Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Toledo in Ohio and have additional training in Psychiatry. My career as a PA has consisted of outpatient Psychiatric care, including Telepsychiatry. I currently reside in Michigan.
